Digital Technology

Youtube

I will be using YouTube frequently to look at various different music videos, from all types of genres, genders, bands/solo artists. I can use YouTube to upload music videos to my blog and analyse them. YouTube helped my group and I to decide what type of music video we wanted to create and from there we were able to use it to research other music videos from artists of the same genre as our artists, Megan.

Blogger

Blogger is the main piece of technology I will be using as it is where I will be uploading every piece of work I do for my project and in lesson time. My blog is where I post all my ideas for my music video and is where I can upload anything I want to do with music videos.

iMacs

iMacs are the computers that I use in every Media lesson to research, blog and watch different music videos for ideas. I really like using the Macs as they are fast and efficient. They also have really good software which we will use to edit and create our music video.

iMovie/Final Cut Pro

iMovie and Final Cut Pro are the two types of software available for us to edit and cut our music videos. iMovie is easy to use and I already know exactly how to do everything on this software. However, Final Cut Pro is new to the Mac computers and is a very complex software which I do no know how to use. I want to edit and change our music video using Final Cut Pro as it very high end and will ensure that our music video is very effective.

Panasonic HCV500 camera

This is the camera that I will be using to film our music video with. They are easy to use and they are handheld which is good because they aren't too heavy to carry around to different locations. The good thing about these cameras is that we are able to use them over the weekend and therefore out of school, this means we can use any location we like for our music video. These cameras sync easily to the iMacs and they also have a tripod which we will use throughout filming to ensure the camera stays still.
