What makes you beautiful by One Direction - 2011;
Eye contact was kept to create a personal feeling between the singer and the audience
Panning shots were used
Tracking shots were used a lot to follow the singer
Cross dissolves were used often to create interest
Males and females included and are all attractive
Beach location appeals to the young audience
Overall, a lot of things have changed in music videos nowadays, since the music video 'tell him' was made 50 years ago. The editing has become much slicker, this is due to the fact that there is newer equipment available now. People are able to make their music videos wherever in the world and whenever they choose due to budgets being a lot bigger. All artists and extras in music videos are attractive because more people watch them if they have good looking people in them. Film stock and cameras are much higher quality, and people know all types of camera shots to make their videos the best they can be. However, with all these changes there are some things that have stayed the same, artists always make eye contact with their audience as it creates a much more personal feel and videos always focus on the actual singer that is singing at each particular time.
