Why have a digipak?
They look good to the audience, which is good for the band/artist as a more appealing and therefore attractive digipak will draw people in and encourage them to want to buy the CD. A digipak contains additional information and the band or artist for example, how the music was produced, this will attract fans who want to know more about the music and will make them want to purchase the CD.
Digipaks normally show an image of the artist(s) on the front cover, however, this one in particular does not. Instead it has sketches of instruments, recording tools and other things we would associate with music. This digipak has a spray paint effect which is continued throughout the whole of the pack, creating a consistency for the audience. The artists names are printed in different bold fonts all over the digipak, this ensures that the artists stand out from the rest of the pack and definitely draws attention to it.
Looking at this digipak you would assume that it is aimed at mainly males, due to the dark colours and bold fonts. The digipak also uses a 'graffiti' theme which would definitely give more attraction to males than females. The style of the font is very informal, yet eye-catching which would appeal to the customer and overall the style and colours used in this digipak have been carefully thought about so they appeal to a fan or customer who enjoys this genre of music.
