Pudding Bowl

Pudding Bowl is a a short film which is based in the 1950s. The protagonist is a child called 'Ivy' who has dreams of becoming a stereotypical beautiful woman.

Soundtrack;
  • There is very little dialogue
  • The music at the end did not fit correctly
Camerawork;
  • A low angle at the beginning made Jack look much more powerful then Ivy
  • Then a high engle(birds-eye) made Ivy look much more sinister and revengeful
  • Finally, a shallow focus allows us to see Ivy's dreams of having men chase after her beauty
Editing;
  • Cuts are swiftly done
  • Match on action is used
  • The clockwipe shows us the time change
Mis-en-scene;
  • The pudding bowl is used by Ivy's mother to help cut Ivy's hair, this goes alongside the title of the film
  • Consistency is reflected through the use of two similar dresses
  • The hair surrounding Ivy portray's she is trapped in a body she is unhappy with and wants to be free and beautiful like the woman in her dreams
